Lohgad Fort
Many of the forts in Maharashtra now exist just for the name's sake and still further several of them do not exist even for that. A few however are so well preserved as to retain most of their medieval distinctive defence features, practically intact. Lohgad is one of them.

Lohgad-Visapur forts were built during satvahan rule. They are near from Malavli Railway Station on Mumbai-Pune route. After treading Malavli-Bhaja 4 kilometers distance, the path divides at Gaymukh and two ways go separately to these two forts.

The height of Lohgad is 1034 meters while that of Visapur is 1081 meters. Lohgad Fort has four gates. Inside the fort stand two kothis (houses), and reservoir. The fort's wall is still in good condition.
