06/10/2013 : A Major accident averted near Khed Railway station by good presence of mind of the driver of Mandovi Express. The driver of speeding CST-Madgaon Mandovi Express spotted the cracks on rail tracks near Khed station. He immediately pressed the emergency brake and halted the train. Due to this only the engine and the first coach is derailed. Initial reports said that nobody was injured.
